Spread 151 – Run 2 You
2009 Aproximately
Acrylic paint, vintage papers, image transfer, 5″ X 8″ Moleskine Journal.
This is one of my very first art journal spreads, it is in a tiny 5″ X 8″ Moleskin journal. I am posting it to remind myself and others where I started. It is good to look back at where we’ve started and how far we have come. It was done completely on my own. The pocket on the right side contains the words to the song “Run To You”. Looking back it was a very personal important spread for me at the time. It still is. I do this to encourage other artists to post their work, on their blog, on Facebook, whatever, be brave.
I also wanted to let you know I am happy to pass along that I am honored to have three spread now published online in The Flyaway of Journal of Writing & Environment.
Sp proud of you, it warms my heart big time to remember how you started, and to see now, your work, your depth, your contributions in publications in print and online, your teaching, your prolificness, your bonds with creative types have all blossomed. Being a personal witness to your evolution feels like a great privilege and honor to me. Through challenges and time we our precious friendship had become what it is today, most meaningful to me.
I love this journal spread Brian – I can see your style in it, full of rich color! Congratulations on getting your other amazing journal spreads published – they look equally wonderful as this first journal spread =-)
