Spread 0172 – Join Me
18 May 2014
Nova Color acrylic paints, black gesso, cardboard, Golden fiber paste, Sigano white gel pen, Micron black pen.
I am a solitary creature by nature, yet there is something very special about joining like minded art journalers for a day or two of art journaling as I did in the creation of this spread from a class with Orly Avineri. You have four opportunities to join me in art journaling coming up.
I am teaching two new one day classes in Los Angeles at MAKE ART IN L.A. hosted by Barbara Buckles.
Finding Yourself – Join us for a day of exploration to discover YOUR style in art journaling. Working with copies of childhood and/or family photos and other images you feel a connection to such as a tree, a chair, or other special object(s), we’ll use paint, paper, pens, markers, found objects, and image transfer techniques to enhance your layouts. This workshop is all about developing and exploring your unique voice through style, color, image, and words. For everyone, all skill levels.
Men Only – Gentlemen, join us for a day of journaling through paint and collage. Art journaling is private; it’s just for you. It’s not about outcome; it’s about the process of creating to express yourself. For beginning and seasoned artists alike.
Finding Yourself – Saturday, July 12, 2014 – 10:30-4:30 – $100
For Men Only – Saturday, July 19, 2014 – 10:30-4:30 – $100
MAKE ART IN L.A. is a wonderful new teaching venue in The Loft at Liz’s, located upstairs above Liz’s Antique Hardware, 453 S. La Brea Avenue, Los Angles, CA 90036.

We all have images that we are drawn to, photographs and images that are personal to us. It could be a certain animal, even a chair, or childhood photos we are drawn to. In this two-day class we will explore our own personal images. We will explore why and what makes these images important to us. Using layers of paper, and paint, and our pens we will explore, reveal and conceal pages that are meaningful to you. We will explore image transfers to layer. It is really all about you, your words, your images, your colors, and your mark making. We will spend our days making your art journal pages uniquely about you.
I am excited to be teaching my first online art journaling class and to be one of 21 teachers joining together for the Fall 2014 21 Secrets Art Journaling Workshop!
